Before following the recipe instructions in this section, first make sure you are familiar with Basic Recipe Techniques.
The example recipe below, Site-Order Recipe.rcx , demonstrates how to control the order that a list of sites are imaged by employing an external site order file. A site order file is nothing fancier than a simple comma-delimited text file which tells the recipe the order with which the sites in the recipe should be imaged. Thus Site 1 does not necessarily have to be the first site that is imaged.
This technique may be particularly attractive to manage recipes where a sample may be known to have certain sites that may damage the tip. The user may wish to image these samples last so that if there is a problem with the tip-sample interaction on a known dodgy site, it will not interfere with the rest of the sites in the recipe run.

A site order file should have at least three columns:
Because there are six sites in the recipe, the site order file should have six rows, each with three columns. In this case, the recipe will image the third site first, followed by the second, etc. The third column lists the name of the captured image.
When the recipe run reaches the Site Order node, the subsequent order of the sites and their measurements will be reordered as directed by the site order file.
The captured images will appear in the order which are imaged:
